Digital Tachograph Training
for PCV and LGV Drivers
£95 inc vat and DVLA upload fee per person
Do you or your drivers know how to use the latest type of digital tachograph units now fitted to all new vehicles over 3,500kgs? Lack of training is a common cause of driving hours offences and the Police or VOSA have the authority to fine and/or take action against the company and/or driver. However, do not fear, our one day classroom course will give the driver the required information to operate a digital tachograph and stay within the law.

We Have invested in a Digital Tachograph Simulator computer package produced by Siemens VDO (the largest manufacturer of digital tachographs) to provide real hands on experience and demonstration of how to use the VU (vehicle unit).
This course will cover:
• Introduction to Driver Hours (EC Regulation 561/2006)
• Introduction to the Digital Tachograph Unit (DTCO 1381)
• Hands on practice with the Siemens DTCO 1381 Simulator
• Using a real Digital Tachograph fitted to a vehicle, change paper roll, insert card etc
We have noted that every trainee on this course has found it extremely useful and worthwhile, without this experience many suggest that getting to grips with a digital tachograph would have been very challenging without some guidance. Once finished on the course all candidates reported that now they understand the basics they no longer fear having to use a new digital tachograph.
If required, we can also supply you with the D777B form to apply for your digital tachograph driver card, this will be required for when you need to drive a vehicle with a digital tachograph VU. A handout entitled Rules on Drivers' Hours and Tachographs produced by VOSA will given to all candidates together with a handy pocket sized guide to digital tachograph operation.
