Initial Driver CPC Training is for new drivers gaining their truck or coach driving licence. If you are driving for hire or reward or are under 21 years old you must pass this extra test called Module 4 CPC. Its a straight forward test designed to test your ability of loading the vehicle, security, daily defect checks, illegal immigrants and actions in case of an incident. Only new drivers need to undergo this test, drivers who passed their test before September 2009 for truck drivers and September 2008 for coach drivers. If you aren't a new driver move on the next section below.

Periodic Driver CPC Training is for existing drivers who passed their test pre 2009/2008 as above and those who have passsed the Initial Driver CPC already. Pre 2009/2008 drivers have 5 years to complete their Driver CPC Training of 35 hours, those that have passed their Initial Driver CPC Module 4 test (new drivers) have 5 years from their test date to complete the 35 hours of training.
