Lift Truck Instructor Training for
Counterbalance, Reach, Pedestrian Truck, Sideloader, Telescopic & Rough Terrain

Tockwith Training have been providing RTITB accredited lift truck training since 1997 both at centre in York and at company premises anywhere in the country. We also offer a lift truck instructor course to enable individuals to become an RTITB registered instructor.

Lift truck instructors that successfully complete the RTITB accredited training course will have demonstrated by examination their competence and knowledge in the following elements:

• Lift Truck operating skills
• Practical instructional ability
• Associated knowledge
• Health and Safety related recommendations

All successful instructors can apply to become RTITB registered instructors and become if required an RTITB accredited lift truck training provider.

Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 section 2(2)C places a duty on employers to provide adequate training for staff in the use of machines and equipment they are expected to operate in the normal course of their duties. As a result of the high number of accidents and fatalities caused by the inexperienced operator the Health & Safety Executive introduced an Approved Code of Practice in 1989 (ACOP26) which recommends that all lift truck operators are adequately trained and that training should be carried out by instructors who have undergone training in instructional techniques and skills assessment.
