Tockwith Training have been providing RTITB accredited lift truck training since 1997 both at centre in York and at company premises anywhere in the country.
Because we are RTITB accredited this means our centre has been inspected and approved to meet the conditions set out by the Health and Safety accredited body in respect of operator training. Our lift arm instructors have also be trained and tested by the RTITB to ensure they have the required knowledge and ability to teach correct lift truck operating practices to new and existing drivers.
All the courses follow a strict timetable and course structure to ensure all elements are covered and the trainees have all the skills required at each level. This includes the basics such as machine controls through to positioning loads at maximum extension.
After successfully completing the 3 part test the operator will be entered into the NORS (National Operators Registration Scheme) database and will be provided with a Health and Safety recognised certificate and ID card. If you would also like to add 7 hours towards your Driver CPC Qualification, this can be added for £8.75
We provide training for most types of lorry mounted cranes, please email us for prices and course duration, we need to know if the operators are experienced or novices, refresher courses are also available.
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 section 2(2)C places a duty on employers to provide adequate training for staff in the use of machines and equipment they are expected to operate in the normal course of their duties. As a result of the high number of accidents and fatalities caused by the inexperienced operator the Health & Safety Executive introduced an Approved Code of Practice in 1989 (ACOP26) which recommends that all lift truck operators are adequately trained and that training should be carried out by instructors who have undergone training in instructional techniques and skills assessment.
