At Tockwith Training Services we pride ourselves on the quality of our vehicles. After many years of experience in LGV training we have chosen the DAF CF, Volvo FL/FM and Scania P cab as the very best training vehicles. They are not the cheapest trucks suitable for training but we and our customers agree cost is not the only consideration. Vehicles must have very good driveability, Volvo, DAF and Scania have the very best pedigree.

Many of the TTS vehicles are bought new from the manufacturer to our exact specifications, and used vehicles are also purchased if they meet the same specification. To learn about each of our vehicles click on their picture.

Most driver training companies use drawbar vehicles for all truck driving tests. The rigid lorry can be used for LGV category C (Class 2) and then for LGV C+E training a trailer can be attached transforming the vehicle to the same licence category as a full sized Class 1 artic. This is a cost effective method for smaller companies because they only need one truck with a relatively inexpensive trailer. A drawbar vehicle doesn’t drive the same as an articulated vehicle, which is different to reverse and position at roundabouts and junctions. At TTS we only train C+E drivers using a full sized articulated truck not a drawbar truck and trailer, this means you will learn in a realistically sized class 1 truck of the kind you will be most likely to be expected to drive as an LGV C+E driver.

All other TTS vehicles from the car and trailer to the large 45 seater coach are all widely used within the industry and offer a realistic training environment fitted with all the required features demanded by the DSA such as extra mirrors, ABS brakes and air cushioned seats. All vehicles are regularly maintained in our purpose built on-site workshop and inspected daily by instructor and driver before leaving the training centre.
